Join Rock Recovery and Acadia Healthcare for a free CE training and networking brunch on building support in recovery for college students.
College is an exciting life transition for many young adults. The unique experience of new friendships, a new home and the chance to live independently is exhilarating. But for those who struggle with disordered eating, the idea of building out recovery support when leaving home for the first time can be overwhelming.
Heather Clark, LPC, LCPC (Rock Recovery) and Andi Halbsgut, MS, RD, LDN (Carolina House) will walk providers through setting up a robust treatment plan and support team, to help prevent relapse when clients transition to college life. Special attention will be given to the unique challenges of campus dining, academic pressure, accommodations and on-campus resources, social media, and the role of family and loved ones back home.
Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to our panel of clinicians and higher education resource specialist, Tom Bennett, to better understand how they can get students connected to care.
