Black Representation in the Eating Disorder Treatment Field

Ahead of Juneteenth, Rock Recovery is partnering with Equip and ANAD to host a special panel consisting of Black Providers in the eating disorder treatment field. Topics covered will include: 

  • The importance of BIPoC representation in treatment centers

  • Barriers to entry into the field and to receiving care

  • Unique challenges faced by BIPoC individuals in the field

  • Advice for those looking to begin a career in mental health

Panelists include Rock Recovery's Resident in Counseling Natasia “Tasi” James, Rock Recovery volunteer Kelsey Lloyd, Director of Therapy at Equip Reggie Ash, LPCCS, and ANAD Board Member Dr. Tiffany Rush-Wilson. The discussion will be moderated by ANAD Volunteer and Equip Peer Mentor Makailah Dowell.
