About the course leader:

Christie Dondero Bettwy came on as Rock Recovery’s first staff member in April 2013 after serving as a faithful volunteer for three years. Having gone through recovery herself, she understands the depth of emotional, physical and spiritual support needed to recover and is passionate about spreading the message that freedom from disordered eating is possible. She is an active speaker and shares her story with organizations and media outlets across the country. Christie lives in Washington, DC with her husband Ryan, who serves as a pastor at their church in Northern Virginia.

About the New ID Founder: Kim Hemsley, founded the New ID recovery course in 2003 by drawing from her own personal experience of struggling with an eating disorder for 10 years to create. She created New ID to show how she walked through recovery and came out the other side, completely free. The New ID course material came from a collaboration of Hemsley, two counselors and a nutritionist.
