Our Leadership Team

Christie Dondero Headshot 1Christie Dondero – Executive Director

Christie came on as Rock Recovery’s first paid staff member in April 2013. Prior to assuming the role of Executive Director, she volunteered with the organization for almost three years, served as Board President for a two-year term, and acted as Director of Development and Community Programs. Christie worked for Habitat for Humanity’s seventh largest U.S. affiliate in North Carolina and as a consultant with PwC in Washington, D.C. prior to coming on staff. Having gone through recovery herself, Christie understands the depth of emotional, physical and spiritual support needed to recover and is passionate about spreading the message that freedom from disordered eating is possible. Christie recently fell in love with spin classes and in her spare time she enjoys traveling, ballet, activities with her church and visiting her family in Florida.

Elise Peterson headshot jpgElise Peterson – Program Director

Elise is originally from the Midwest, and moved to the East coast to earn her Master’s in Counseling from Regent University. After graduating and moving to the DC area, she became involved as a volunteer with Rock Recovery. She was drawn to the organization’s faith-based values, its belief that freedom from disordered eating is truly possible, and its commitment to making treatment accessible to those who struggle.

During her time volunteering with Rock Recovery, Elise has had the privilege of seeing clients reclaim hope for recovery and a healthy life. She is thrilled to be coming on staff with Rock Recovery to serve as Program Director.

Elise comes to Rock Recovery from Center for Discovery, a residential treatment facility for adolescents who suffer from eating disorders. In her spare time, Elise enjoys being on the water, playing music, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Erin Bair, M.Div. – Chaplain

Erin joined the Rock Recovery team as its first chaplain in the fall of 2015. She is a priest in the Anglican Church in North America and has previously served in parish ministry and hospital chaplaincy. Having known many people affected by disordered eating, Erin is grateful to get to support Rock Recovery’s clients, helping them to know the freedom that God’s love and grace offers them.

Erin grew up in Georgia and attended college and divinity school in Boston. Nine years into living in the DC area, she’s convinced she’s found the best of both worlds. In addition to working with Rock Recovery, Erin is a speaker and retreat leader and is training to be a spiritual director. In her free time, she loves to read, cook, hike, and spend as much time as possible in Arizona with her nieces and nephew.
